The property is a historic building originally built between 1900-1920 in Washington, D.C.

  1. Entrance to the property: The facility entrance is located on Champlain Street Northwest and climbing stairs is required to enter the facility. There is no ramp. There is no lift or elevator.

  2. No elevator inside. There are stairs inside: The facility does not have an elevator. Once inside the facility, the use of stairs is required to reach all floors up from the lobby level.

  3. Accessible public restrooms - The facility does not offer any accessible public restrooms.

  4. Accessible rooms - The property offers a studio style apartment on floor 2 that contains several accessibility features in the apartment itself.

    1. That apartment includes wheelchair-accessibility, accessible door locks, accessible door peephole, adequate turning space.

    2. That apartment does not have any in-room communication features.

    3. That apartment has an accessible bathroom within the room which has adequate turning space, a transfer shower with grab bars, a moveable seat, and handheld shower nozzles.

    4. That apartment has an entry door of approximately 36 inches in width. The door within the room between the bathroom and the room is approximately 36 inches wide as well. To get between the room and the hallway, there is a door that separates the more-public portion of the hallway with a more-private rear portion of the hallway before entering the room and the door to the rear portion is approximately 32 inches wide.

    5. The room is equipped with a strobe-light and audible-horn device which is connected to the building fire alarm system.

  5. Registration Desk: Registration for guests takes place online only. There is no public lobby in the building.

  6. Communication features: The rooms at the property are not equipped with phones or intercoms. Communication between guests and staff can take place in person or online and digitally using various mobile phone or smart phone devices.

  7. Accessible Parking: The property does not have any parking of it’s own - there is no parking lot and no dedicated parking spaces for the property. Therefore, because the property does not have parking at all, there is no accessible parking provided. Street curbside parking on side streets other than this block of Champlain Street NW is available on a first-come, first-serve basis on the public streets near the property. There is a public parking garage located one block from the property and that public garage does have accessible parking spots reserved for vehicles with are displaying the appropriate accessible parking placard or license plate.

  8.
